Plastic bottle craft

Fun ways to upcycle PET Bottles at home!

Plastic is not fantastic, we all know that. And although we would all love to completely stop using plastic, sadly, that’s not going to happen anytime soon and even if it does, we have more than enough plastic lying around our house to last a lifetime. The best path forward is to upcycle the plastic and find new uses for them!

So, tie your hair up, collect all your ZOiK bottles and have some fun!

Piggy banks

Plastic bottle piggy bank

What better time to save some money than now?

You'll need a ZOiK bottle, paint and any creative craft supplies like ribbons or laces you have lying around.

Cut a small rectangular hole on top of the bottle and start painting! We at ZOIK love brighter colors. You can cut out googly eyes, 2 ears, a tail and any other part you want your piggy to have and voila- a tiny homemade bank account waiting to be filled!

Bird feeders

 Plastic bottle bird feeder

You might be living in apartments or homes, we all have seen birds flying around looking for food and water! Create a bird restaurant using 2 bottles and make friends with them!

You will need 2 Zoik plastic bottles, 2 pencils/sticks and a pair of scissors. For the bird feeder, pierce 2 holes on  both sides of the bottle that are at least 5 cm apart with scissors (large enough for a pencil to go through) to balance the bottle and  then cut out a flap below the pencil at the bottom and fill it with seeds. Make sure the seeds don't overflow and hang them where the birds can see.

Pen holders

Only one out of every six plastic bottles ends up in the recycling bin, the rest are sent to landfills or contribute to devastating ocean pollution. You can help lessen the burden on the planet and save marine and land animals by recycling, reusing and reducing your overall consumption of plastic. But you can save environment using this amazing DIY craft for kids !

You'll need half a Zoik plastic bottle and some creativity for this one. Cut the bottle in half, use your imagination along with some paint, glitter and drawings and viola, no more scattered pens and pencils in your desk!

Flower Vase

Flower vase

This is one of your personal favorites. Everyone loves getting flowers and the next time you do, you will have a cute and artsy vase ready to be used!

Cut the upper half of the Zoik bottle or leave it as it is (works great either way!) and start decorating! You can go as crazy as you want with this one and the next time you get some flowers, put them here and add some water!

Fairy light holder

                                       Fancy light holder

Grab your fairy lights and your used Zoik plastic bottle. Once the bottle is clean and dry, either wrap the fairy lights around the bottle on put them (safely) inside the bottle.
You can use translucent paints or cover the bottle with a thin coat of glitter to make it extra pretty!

Bottle gardens

This is a fun project for anyone who loves gardening! Collect all the Zoik plastic bottles you have and gather them. Cut out a large rectangular hole on one side of the bottle and 2 small holes on each side to hang them.

Fill it with mud, plant your seeds and watch them grow!

Some more fun ideas for you to try on:

Plastic waste management is very necessary for our environment as these plastic bottles are non-biodegradable. You can upcycle or reuse them using our plastic bottle craft ideas as mentioned above. There are plenty of ways to upcycle plastic bottles. DIY craft ideas are one of the way to reduce plastic waste and to reuse more and more plastic bottles to contribute to making the environment sustainable.

So, what are you waiting for? Create, inspire and have loads of fun doing both! Let us know if you have any amazing recycling ideas and share it with us on www.drinkzoik.com or at @zoikindia
